Broadcasting

Get into a behind-the-scenes or in front of the mic career. The world of broadcasting has lots to offer with more and more channels on cable, satellite, and Internet media being created all the time. Pursuing study in broadcasting often means lots of hands-on training and "real world" experience in the form of internships at radio and TV stations. Some schools even have state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment and working stations in which students broadcast live shows to campus and the surrounding community. Employment in broadcasting is expected to increase about 9 percent over the 2006-16 period, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, but competition will be keen, so a good education will be needed to stand out from the crowd.
